For the month of January, every Wednesday ( 5th/ 12th/ 19th/ 26th January), food connoisseurs can taste the amazing Moroccan cuisine exclusively at The Dempsey Project. Moroccan cuisine is considered one of the world’s richest cuisines and is influenced by Berber, Arab-Andalusian, Africa and Jewish culinary traditions. The Moroccan flavors are distinctive, vibrant and absolutely delicious with the various spices and aromas blending to tickle the palate and tempt the senses!
The Moroccan feast is being curated by Rhizlane El Rhomri and The Dempsey Project, Chef Mus Anesrif who are bringing you secret recipes ranging from pastilla, tagine, couscous, kefta & sellou for The Great Spice Potluck! The Food Journal was privileged to be invited to taste some of the visually attractive and sumptuous fare at The Dempsey Project last Wednesday.
Here are the mouth watering highlights:
Morrocan Mezze: a colorful and hearty platter of starters, with a combo of fresh veggies infused with herbs and spices along with freshly baked Moroccan bread, to tantalize the taste buds.
This was followed by the main course of:
Crispy Indian Fish Fry made with Barramundi fish mixed with Indian spices. Soft on the inside and crispy on the outside, the fish fry was a delight in every bite!
Lemon Chicken and Olives Tangine: ChickeninasaffrononionsaucewithMoroccanolives– succulent and tangy.
Beef,Prune&Apricot Tagine: Rich dish of slowcookedbeefshanktoppedwithprunes,apricots&almonds, served inacaramelizedsauceflavoredbysaffron&cinnamon.

The meal was followed by decadent desserts:
Sellou: Morrocan delicacy made with a mixtureofalmonds,sesame& ArabicMiskseasoned generously withhoney&spices. Chocolate Brownie: A vegan cake topped with dollop of vanilla ice cream and strawberries, sure to melt in your mouth!
Finally, Morrocan Mint Tea a refreshing beverage made with dried and fresh mint leaves which is Morocco’s national drink and represents the Moroccan culture & hospitality!
